Autonomous technology will be applied to the trucking industry before anywhere else. Mars Auto is in a unique position to be one of the first companies to deploy driverless trucks on the road. Our data-driven approach allows us to learn driving policy from actual driving data, and our system can be deployed at a fraction of the cost of other solutions.

We are paving the road towards driverless trucks, and have many industry-first records. We have started the first autonomous freight shipping in Korea. With the largest amount of autonomous miles in Korea under our belt, we're rapidly expanding our fleet to cover the entire country.

Mars Auto is looking for engineers to join our team in Seoul to make fully driverless trucks a reality. We are solving very challenging engineering problems, and we approach self-driving problem in a nonconventional way with scalability and automation in mind. Engineers without any past experience in self-driving industry are welcome to apply.

Open Positions

Head of Operations

Seoul, Korea

Responsibilities

  • Build out and lead our operations team
  • Scale our logistics division to handle the growing number of drivers and trucks
  • Work closely with the engineering team to coordinate and implement a long term roadmap for autonomous trucking operation
  • Be the primary contact point between the engineering team and operations team
  • Work with government officials regarding regulation, policy, and grants

Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience in Product Management, Operations or related fields
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High passion in the self-driving and logistics space
  • Experience in working in a competitive fast growing company preferred

Software Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

Seoul, Korea

Responsibilities

  • Develop autonomous driving software with a focus on low-level optimization

Qualifications

  • Know how modern computer works
  • Familiar with ARM and x86 architecture
  • Fluent in C/C++ and python
  • Deep understanding of linux kernel
  • Experience in writing software which runs on GPU

Software Engineer (Full Stack)

Seoul, Korea

Responsibilities

  • Build tools for self-driving infrastructure
  • Design and develop a user-friendly viewer for self-driving system
  • Build tools for data pipelines

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with frontend languages: Javascript, HTML and CSS
  • Proficiency with backend languages: Python
  • Familiar with fundamental computer science concepts
  • Experience in developing data visualization tools

Electrical Engineer (Embedded / Circuit Design)

Seoul, Korea

Responsibilities

  • Design circuit and PCB for automotive application components
  • Design 32bit microcontroller (ST, TI, ARM, etc) circuits and their F/W
  • Design harnesses/wires for connecting to vehicle components

Qualifications

  • Understanding microcontrollers and its related knowledge
  • Ability to design, build, and source parts
  • Skills related C/C++ or Python
  • Bonus on experience in developing vehicle control parts

3D Printing Engineer

Seoul, Korea

Responsibilities

  • Design mounting to hold multiple sensors/components inside/outside of vehicles
  • Develop mounting robust to driving in multiple environments
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to satisfy limited conditions and provide potential improvements for the product

Qualifications

  • Understanding physical effects along with long driving situation
  • Familiar with CAD modeling (but any other design tools are also preferred)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external teams/entities
  • Bonus on experience in developing vehicle control parts

Robotics Engineer (State Estimation)

Seoul, Korea

Responsibilities

  • Solve state estimation problems in autonomous driving from vehicle sensors across space and time
  • Develop automatic, large-scale ground truth data generation algorithms from hours of driving data

Qualifications

  • Experience with core problems in robotics, including state estimation and SLAM
  • Strong background in statistics, linear algebra and calculus
  • Familiar with non-linear optimization and Kalman Filter
  • Familiar with C/C++ or python

Robotics Engineer (Vehicle Control)

Seoul, Korea

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement core algorithms in autonomous truck control

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of control theory and vehicle dynamics
  • Experience in automobile engineering including tire model and powertrain of vehicle
  • Strong background in control system design, signal processing, dynamic system modeling, and have experience in applying these disciplines to real-world systems
  • Familiar with dynamic system modeling and methodologies in parameter estimation
